Our Consumer Markets Predictive Analytics division is seeking talented individuals to join our growing team! Be a part of the next generation of pricing by doing territorial ratemaking, vehicle symbol, usage-based-insurance analytics, class plan development, optimization analysis and other predictive analytics for auto and homeowners across agency and direct distribution channels.

You will also participate in the training and development of staff; manage smaller research projects from research design through conclusions and recommendations; and participate in the development of implementation plans as subject matter expert.

Our Consumer Analytics group comprises five high performing and creative teams: Auto, Home, Decision Analytics, Optimization and Pricing Continuous Improvement Cycle. As part of these teams, individuals will perform GLM analysis, use machine learning techniques, and other more advanced modeling methods to continually enhance our pricing methodologies. They will assist in developing modeling and data mining skills in other Predictive Analytics personnel, be responsible for peer reviewing others' work, lead project teams as needed and communicate results to key stakeholders


Responsibilities:

o Build predictive models using GLM, CART, logistic regression, and other means, in support of implementation of new rating plans and other initiatives.

o Validate, manipulate and perform exploratory data analysis tasks on analytical data sets.

o Provide qualitative and quantitative data support to ensure accuracy of characteristics and metrics.

o Analyze new data sources for availability and quality, and integrate with internal sources to support research or analytics.

o Build forward looking and repeatable processes that adapt to the business needs Test and evaluate new software and methodologies.

o Participate on cross functional teams solving business problems

o Regularly communicate within Predictive Analytics team and across various business functions within Consumer Markets.

o Peer review and evaluate models built by research staff

o Build optimization analyses

o Potentially come up with new ideas that lead to patents

o Establish benchmark expectations to monitor business performance post release with business partners.

Technical/Functional Skills:

o Working knowledge of statistical modeling tools

o Basic-to-moderate SAS programming skills

o Strong understanding of the Consumer Markets business and the pricing of related insurance products

o Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; builds effective relationships

Education:

o Degree in statistics, actuarial science, economics, computer science, or other quantitative field required; advanced degree preferred.

o 3
years experience in statistical modeling or analysis required; 5-7 years relevant insurance experience (underwriting, product management, product development, actuarial) preferred

o Strong quantitative skills required

o 5
years computer programming experience, SAS preferred

o Strong knowledge of Consumer Markets technology platforms, workflows, and business processes preferred

o Proficient project management skills

o Good knowledge of EconomicsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
